A picture is worth a thousand words. That saying is always a good one, and in the social media world, it could basically be the tagline for Instagram. Since Instagram pics are so hot right now, of course business are always seeking new ways to use the platform to reach customers. Well, the Facebook-owned company has officially announced its new tools for business users.
Just like LinkedIn and Facebook, Instagram now has specific profiles that can be created for businesses. These new business profiles allow companies to give detailed contact information to customers, promote specific posts as Instagram ads, and access helpful insights about how the profile is performing.
Really, the biggest feature here is the new performance insights. These go way deeper than the previously available “overall likes” and “overall views”. The new Business Insights reveal exactly who your followers are, when they view your profile and what posts resonate with them the most (through likes, comments and views). These insights will give a business all the info it needs to really be able to connect and understand its followers.
Promotion and contact capabilities are also new to the “Instagram Business Tools”. Promotions will now allow businesses to change posts into ads with the touch of a button so that they can be used to reach new followers. An additional “Contact” button will also be available on the business’ page so that followers have an easy and convenient way to contact the business outside of the Instagram platform.
