Moving Day apps

25 Apr , 2016

Did you know that more people move in May and June than any other month? Well, if you are among those who are gearing up for a move this year, I know it can be stressful!  The process SHOULD be easy.  Just pack and move.  But let’s be real.  It is a PAIN.  So, I have two apps that take some of the pressure and chaos out of moving… one for each step!

The “PACK” app:

The first hard part of moving is to put your entire life into a sea of boxes. Then when you finally get to your new home you have to try to remember what is in each box and which boxes to unpack where. This problem is solved with the Sortly app. I like to call this app “Heaven for the OCD”.  Sortly lets you make detailed lists with your own categories for each part of your house. When packing, simply take pictures of what goes in each box and then digitally label it for a room so you never have to dig through all your boxes to find your pillow again! Want another perk? Sortly is free for iPhone.

The “MOVE” app:

Okay, so now that you’ve got a pile of boxes, it’s time to figure out how to get them all safety to your new place without breaking the bank(or that porcelain family heirloom). Whether you have problems with moving furniture, boxes or both, the Dolly app is going to change your life! It is basically Uber, but for moving items! Simply input what items you need moved, when, and to where, and the app will connect you with a reviewed and reliable helper who is ready and equipped to move on-demand. From there moving is easy and all payment and tips are through the app so there is no cash needed. Dolly is free for both iPhone and Android.

Now that your digital plan is in place for HOW you are going to move, you can finally state seeking out that perfect new place!  Good luck!
